Divorced and struggling, middle-aged Kim is hanging on by her fingernails. When her elderly mother invites her to return to the lush island of her Florida childhood, Kim is tempted. She could spend time with Mom, start her dream business, and craft the perfect new life.

But when she arrives, Kim is horrified to find a dysfunctional disaster. Mom's sister with dementia has moved in, the house is falling apart, and a cousin is living in a trailer in the backyard with her scary, drug-dealing boyfriend.
